Gunung Merapi - Lereng segi selatan ada dalam administrasi Kabupaten Sleman, Wilayah Spesial Yogyakarta

 Gunung Merapi (ketinggian pucuk 2.930 mdpl, per 2010) (Hanacaraka:ꦒꦸꦤꦸꦁ​ꦩꦼꦫꦥꦶ) yaitu gunung berapi di sisi tengah Pulau Jawa serta sebagai satu diantara gunung api teraktif di Indonesia. Lereng segi selatan ada dalam administrasi Kabupaten Sleman, Wilayah Spesial Yogyakarta, serta bekasnya ada dalam lokasi Propinsi Jawa tengah, ialah Kabupaten Magelang disamping barat, Kabupaten Boyolali disamping utara serta timur, dan Kabupaten Klaten disamping tenggara. Lokasi rimba di lebih kurang pucuknya jadi lokasi Taman Nasional Gunung Merapi sejak mulai tahun 2004. Gunung ini mempunyai potensi kebencanaan yang tinggi sebab berdasar catatan kekinian merasakan erupsi tiap-tiap dua hingga lima tahun sekali serta diputari oleh pemukiman yang padat. Sejak mulai tahun 1548, gunung ini udah meletus sejumlah 68 kali. Kota Magelang serta Kota Yogyakarta yaitu kota besar paling dekat, miliki jarak kurang dari 30 km dari pucuknya.
